Your privacy is important to us. Automo Tech is committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we collect, use, and store it.

1. Who We Are

Automo Tech ("we", "our", "us") is an IoT automation platform developed and operated in Bangladesh. Our mobile application and web services ("Automo", "the App") allow users to control smart devices, automation schedules, cameras, and sensors.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
Organisation Data: Organisation name, member roles, and invite codes.
Device Data: Device names, zones, relay states (on/off), schedules, and automation rules you configure.
Camera Data: Camera names, stream URLs (RTSP addresses), and zone assignments. We do not store or process camera video footage on our servers.
MQTT Data: Device control commands and sensor readings transmitted via MQTT protocol for automation purposes.
Usage Data: App interactions, error logs, and connection status information for improving the service.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Automo automation platform.
To authenticate your identity and manage your account.
To enable device control, scheduling, and automation features.
To send system notifications and alerts relevant to your devices.
To improve the app's performance and fix technical issues.
To comply with legal obligations under applicable Bangladesh laws.

4. Camera and Video Data

Automo connects to IP cameras via RTSP streams that are stored locally on your network or device. We do not upload, store, or process your camera video footage on our servers. Camera stream URLs are stored solely to enable reconnection to your camera.

If you use local recording features, recordings are saved directly to your device's local storage and are not transmitted to our servers.

5. Device and Automation Data

Device states, schedules, and automation rules are stored on our secure self-hosted server infrastructure. This data is necessary for the core functionality of the App. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS and MQTTS/TLS).

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the European Union. We implement the following security measures:

All data transmitted between the App and server is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
MQTT communications are secured with TLS on port 8883.
Database access is restricted with Row Level Security (RLS).
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Server ports are protected by firewall rules allowing only necessary access.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

With other members of your organisation, as authorised by the organisation Admin.
When required by law or valid legal process in Bangladesh.
To protect the rights, property, or safety of Automo Tech, our users, or the public.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and device configurations will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised usage logs may be retained for up to 12 months for service improvement purposes.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Export your device configuration data.
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

10. Children's Privacy

Automo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
